I was reborn as entirly different person from what I had used to be when I got my leg amputated, and at the same time I was obliged to live rest of my life as handicapped.
Although I didn't even know a word "prostheses or orthoses", I was getting to recognize that there are a lot of handicapped people like me in many places.
From then on, I regard such people as "my fellows".
What made me want to become a PO is a desire for "I want to make my leg and adjust it by myself."
Actually, acquiring a PO certificate needs enormous amount of knowledge and skill, so I nearly gave it up to get it at many times.
But, at that time I talked to myself "Giving it up is easy, but I need my leg as long as I live, and PO is the only occupation I'd be proud of".
Eventually, I've got to think that handicap is individuality getting along with prostheses and orthoses.
I think that the notion "handicap is individuality" is the ultimate goal for handicapped persons all around the world as well as in Japanese.
I hope that every patients I'll meet will be proud of his or her handicap as "individuality", and I'm telling myself that I will be making good products worth to be regarded as such individuality.
The field of PO is progressing every day and night. Then we have to study hard to follow those progressions.
We know there is no perfect prostheses or orthosis. And yet, we are willing to make biggest efforts, because we want to make our products nearly impeccable leading that our customers will be truly satisfied with those.
I had never thought that my customers' smile gives me such great happinesses and encouragements toward me.
I'll do all my best in order to make "my fellows" happier.
